Speaking Session:

All Together Now: Solving Global Problems Across Sectors

Thursday, June 20 @ 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM Stage A

In a world facing large-scale challenges, it’s easy to overlook the work others are doing to meet them. The tools, data and know-how to solve big problems often already exist, but a lack of collaboration across sectors stifles awareness and stalls progress. In this moderated discussion, three top experts will talk about how we can accelerate solutions to big, global problems by building meaningful partnerships between business, government, venture and philanthropic players.

Hillary Hartley is the Chief Digital Officer and Deputy Minister, Ministry of Government & Consumer Services. Her focus is to deliver the end-to-end customer experience of government, bringing together the collective efforts of ServiceOntario, Consumer Protection Ontario, the Ontario Digital Service to deliver simpler, faster, better government services for the people and businesses of Ontario.

Previously, Hillary was the Deputy Executive Director of 18F, the U.S. government’s digital office, and a former Presidential Innovation Fellow. She was also previously the Director of Integrated Marketing at NIC Inc., which helps state and local governments embrace new internet-based technologies and approaches necessary for government modernization. She has extensive expertise in technology, digital strategy, design thinking, and public engagement.
